After business school she went to Superior Sheet Steel Co., Louisville, Stark Co., Ohio where she worked as a bookeeper, eventually worked her way up to purchasing agent . In 1939 she was asked to move to Niles Rolling Mill, Trumbull Co., Ohio as purchasing agent and moved with her mother up the road from work to Lordstown, Ohio on Saltspring Road. After her mother passed away she moved to a cottage on Lake Milton (117 Forest Avenue).
